Where to sail a Flying Fifteen in Western Australia

Esperance Bay Yacht Club
Established in 1995 the Club is located on the southeast coast at Esperance (700 km from Perth) on the town foreshore on the beautiful Esperance Bay on the Southern Ocean. Club facilities include bar, restaurant, function centre and marina.Launching is by crane or off the beach.There are 10 boats registered at the club. Sailing is conducted on Saturday in the season as well as twilight events.

Geraldton Yacht Club
Established in 1914, the Club is situated 420 km north of Perth and is within walking distance of the centre of the City of Geraldton. Sailing takes place on Champion Bay in the Indian Ocean. Facilities include dining and bar, together with a function room.
Launching is by ramp. There are 8 boats registered at the Club. Sailing takes place on Sundays.

Port Bouvard Yacht Club
Established in the late 1990s , the club is located on the foreshore of the Mandurah estuary ( famous for its crabbing of blue swimmer crabs) . It is 20 km south of the City of Mandurah and 80km south of Perth. Club facilities include bar and function room.
Launching is by ramp. There are 7 boats registered at the Club. Sailing is conducted on Saturdays.

Princess Royal Sailing Club
Located on the south coast at Albany (445 km from Perth) on the southern shore of Princess Royal Harbour at Little Grove which is 9 km from the City of Albany.
Club facilities include bar, restaurant, function centre and marina.Launching is by ramp.
There are 3 boats registered at the club. Sailing is conducted on Saturday  in the season as well as twilight events.

Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club
Founded in 1896, it is described as one of Australia’s finest yachting centres. The club is located on Butlers Hump in Peppermint Grove overlooking Freshwater Bay and the Swan River, and is 12 km southwest of the Perth CBD. Sailing is generally conducted on Melville water on the river.
It is the birthplace of Flying Fifteens in Australia, where ‘Tally’ Hobbs built the first boat.Club facilities include bars, restaurants, function centre and marina.
Sailing facilities include 3 overhead cranes, as well as ramp launching. There are 13 boats registered at the Club. Sailing is conducted on Saturday afternoon in the season as well as twilight events. Off-season sailing is scheduled on Sunday mornings.

South of Perth Yacht Club
Established in 1945, the Club is located at Coffee Point on the southern bank of the Swan River andis6 km south of the Perth CBD. Sailing is generally conducted on Melville Water on the river. Club facilities include bars, restaurants, function centre and marina. Sailing facilities include 3 overhead cranes, as well as ramp launching. There are 30 boats registered at the Club. Sailing is conducted on Sunday in the season as well as twilight events. Off- season sailing is scheduled on Sunday afternoons.
