The 2017 State Championships have wrapped up with Grant Alderson and Dean McAullay securing their 9th title together. Grant also slipped past Graeme Lillingston as record holder with his 13th Title.
Nia Jerwood joined forces with Dad Nick to steer “Nia, Enough” sailing a great regatta to win second place and David Yu and Chris Nelson on Tuffan Up secured third.
Conditions were absolutely glorious with shifting breezes in the middle range providing fair but challenging racing on all three days. Dean and Grant secured 5 first places with the other two heat wins by first time winners – Andrew and Ann Knowles on A2 (the “Milk Cart”) winning heat 5 and Chris Patterson and Ed Repsevicius on Storyteller winning heat 6.
Other results will be published after the presentation dinner.
The event was enjoyable for everyone so a big thank you to Geraldton Yacht Club and to Mark Millman for leading the event organisation.
