Christies Sailing Club
Christies Sailing Club (CSC)
The club was founded in 1958 and has steadily grown to be known as one of the friendliest clubs in South Australia. Former Junior Sailors have gone up through the ranks to become national title holders in several classes. The club’s members have travelled far and wide throughout the country attending many major regattas, often bringing home the trophies.
Located on the Esplanade at Christies Beach, the club has excellent facilities that include a licensed bar, fully equipped kitchen, change rooms and a view that is one of the best in the state.
The club has embraced the future of sailing with a large junior sailing program as well as securing a hardstand facility at nearby O’Sullivan Beach Boat Ramp where trailerable yachts and sports boats can be stored with masts up for short rigging time to get on to the water. The waters off Christies Beach are beautifully clean with exciting deep water sailing on offer for all classes of boat.
Sailing is on Saturdays in the summer season, and winter series are sailed on Sundays, there is also twilight sailing on Thursday evenings – weather permitting.

Goolwa Regatta Yacht Club
The Goolwa Regatta Yacht Club is located in the historic river-port of Goolwa, near the mouth of the River Murray in South Australia. The club was formed as the “Goolwa Regatta Club” some time prior to August 1854. In 1969 the club was renamed the Goolwa Regatta Yacht Club in order to cater for the booming interest in sailing in the area.
Today it is the home of Goolwa’s Yachting community with modern Clubhouse facilities including a licensed bar, lounge, shower, dining and barbecue facilities. Its dining room caters for up to 70 seated guests. Casual function for over 200 guests can be arranged. The Club’s marina accommodates 106 boats up to 12 metres in length, and the boat ramp allows the launching or retrieving of two vessels simultaneously
The GRYC conducts a wide variety of regattas and events in both summer and winter, catering for trailable yachts, riverboats and OTB classes. Race types include point-to-point, out-and-return and around-the-buoys races. We race around the buoys every Friday evening during Summer, with the pre-race briefing at 1730 for a race start at 1800. We also schedule weekend races during both Summer and Winter. Competitors from other clubs are welcome.
The club has conducted the iconic Milang Goolwa Freshwater Classic since 1974 and expanded the program of events when it launched the Goolwa Regatta Week in 2012, with strong community support.
